The Parliamentary Safety Team comprises of 6 staff and is the central advisory and support service assisting people working in parliament to deliver sensible, proportionate and effective safety risk management
This highly visible position will be the primary point of contact for operational safety advice and guidance. The post holder will assist safety colleagues to promote line management ownership of safety and encourage the implementation of good safe working practices; he/she will undertake safety audits and will play a key role in the safety assurance process.
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
- Relevant post qualification general safety experience across a diverse portfolio of safety risks.
- Significant experience of accident investigations and in-depth knowledge of the RIDDOR Regulations.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to ensure credibility and the confidence of staff on the parliamentary estate, whilst upholding a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- You will have a minimum of NEBOSH Certificate or an equivalent and have eligibility to become a technical member of IOSH.
