You will be working with us to promote and support a positive, proactive health and safety culture that delivers high standards of health and safety for the University community.
Duties of the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Health and Safety, you will be responsible for providing general health and safety advice, training, support and monitoring across a wide range of risk areas. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining health and safety standards and the content of online training packages.
Responsibilities will also include performing health and safety audits, inspections and investigations, undertaking risk assessments and leading or participating in working groups for the delivery of specific health and safety projects.
Skills and qualifications required
We are looking for a Chartered member of IOSH, who has significant experience of advising on health and safety in a large organisation with a broad risk profile. You will have excellent knowledge of current health and safety legislation, along with experience of writing policies, standards and risk assessments.
You will be proactive and self- motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good level of IT literacy. You will also need to demonstrate a positive and approachable manner and the ability to communicate health and safety in a simple and understandable way that takes account of the audience.
