We have one of the most experienced and skilled archaeological fieldwork teams in the UK and over the past 40 years we have developed archaeological fieldwork strategies that respond pragmatically to the pressures of development and construction. We employ professional archaeologists who operate safely, working closely with onsite contractors, becoming valued project team members. With offices in London, Northampton and Basingstoke, we undertake projects across the UK and internationally and have expertise in both complex urban environments and large open-area sites, such quarries.
MOLA is seeking an experienced Head of Health and Safety to lead on, and take responsibility for providing professional health and safety leadership within MOLA and to all levels of staff. You will support and advise the management teams, employees and liaising with contractors and third parties.
You will improve performance through the implementation of health and safety management systems, including ISO 45001, and other current standards and legislation and will successfully design, deliver and maintain a health and safety change programme to embed and drive a positive safety culture across the organisation as well as ensuring the timely delivery of associated underpinning health and safety management action plans and operational programmes.
We would really like to hear from you if you are a Health and Safety manager or consultant with extensive experience working in a role at a similar level and bringing about culture change within an organisation. You will also have experience in training, coaching and mentoring and be someone who enjoys and is good at managing, mentoring and developing teams.
Ideally you will have excellent communication and problem solving skills, and the ability to:
- work as part of multi-disciplinary teams
- manage your own workload and prioritise accordingly
- motivate, empower and inspire teams
- build productive and professional relationships with all our partners across the sector including clients, consultants, other contractors and curators
