Do you have in-depth experience in an operational and advisory health and safety role including working collaboratively with senior managers and clients to provide advice, audits, compliance, guidance & training? If yes, we want to hear from you.
We have an exciting role within the Property & Construction Services team where you will direct, support, train and advise local authority services, schools, trusts and other client organisations on the implementation of Health and Safety Policies and Strategy.
It is important that you are able to work collaboratively with establishments and management to provide specialist health and safety advice and guidance which raises both individuals’ awareness of their responsibilities and the health and safety profile.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English.
As the Corporate Health and Safety Adviser, you will be expected to be fully conversant with the Council’s corporate health and safety policy as well as departmental policies and practices.
It is also critical that you have the ability to:
• Manage conflicting work demands
• Develop and implement new health and safety initiatives
• Have effective organisational and customer care skills
• The ability to problem-solve
• To develop and translate ideas into operational systems and procedures.
If you have NEBOSH Certificate/ Level 3 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Occupational Health and Safety Practice or equivalent experience and training, evidence of continuing professional development and are willing to attain level 5 H&S qualification; demonstrable experience of IT and software systems; and can help drive the Council’s vision by liaising with stakeholders, business partners, senior leaders and managers, in a challenging and creative team working environment, we look forward to receiving your application.
