Reporting to the EHS Manager – PGMS Europe, you’ll be working in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, and PSM departments to implement robust systems, ensuring compliance and conformance to EHS Policies and Management Systems whilst growing and supporting a strong EHS culture. This position is also responsible for the leadership and development of a group of EHS professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure robust compliance with COMAH regulations.

  • Work with the Regional EHS Lead and Department Heads to agree health and safety strategies and objectives, with emphasis to Process Safety (PSM)/Training plans/CEM & IH monitoring programs.

  • Managing a team, with an emphasis on professional development against an annual plan.

  • Review policies and procedures in relation to EHS to ensure they are relevant and properly implemented.

  • Manage an annual audit and inspection plan for the EHS team to follow including embedding the behaviour observation program.

  • Lead the in-house training programme for EHS development and core work requirements in line with the Training and Development framework.

  • Manage the accident/incident statistics and provide the relevant information to the relevant managers in a timely manner.

  • Set and facilitate monthly EHS committee meetings with relevant department managers to continue to reinforce a strong EHS culture.

  • Monitor adherence to Divisional KPIs, ensuring compliance.

  • Produce monthly reports, using PMP Dashboard against set KPI performance and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • Scientific/ Engineering Degree.

  • NEBOSH Qualified.

  • Member of professional body with appropriate professional qualification. (e.g IOSH, CMIOSH advantageous)

  • Strong knowledge and experience of working in an Engineering, Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical environment.

  • Strong proven experience in the supervision/management of professional and administrative staff.

  • Experience working in a COMAH production manufacturing chemical/ pharmaceutical/ oil and gas environment before in an EHS role.

  • Strong background in Process Safety/Environment Management/Industrial Hygiene and COMAH.
