U.S. Embassy, London, is in search of a resourceful, service-orientated and detail focused Safety Program Coordinator.

In this varied and challenging role, you will be responsible for assisting and reporting to the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO, Facility Manager), your duties will include:

 

  • carrying out the day-to-day functions of the Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHEM) and Fire Protection Division (FIR) programs at Post, as required by relevant U.S. Government regulations;
  • assuring that all post government-owned and leased property in country meet the requirements of relevant U.S. Government regulations, as well as other related Departmental requirements which may exist.
 

Your working background will be in the maintenance, safety, and/or, construction field, performing work in the field of occupational safety. You will also have a strong track record as a construction supervisor or quality control assurance inspector, with experience managing people and resources. This experience will have honed your ability to coordinate, prioritize, and oversee projects.

Now in search of a new and exciting job opportunity, you will want to utilize your working knowledge of British health and safety regulations, guidelines and best required practices and procedures, together with a good working knowledge of environmental safety standards.

This role will also tap into your solid working knowledge of database management, the Microsoft Suite, with an emphasis on Excel, and the ability to quickly learn and work with bespoke/specialized computer software.

Excellent written, oral and research skills are paramount in this position - you will be regularly called upon to conduct training, drafting of materials, and reports in the performance of your duties.
