The Girls’ Day School Trust, the largest group of independent schools in the UK, needs a part time Health and Safety Adviser to join our in-house H&S team to provide maternity cover, three days a week, from early January 2020.

We need an enthusiastic, conscientious, self-motivated Health & Safety Adviser, with at least 5 years H&S experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that H&S is effectively managed in a group of schools by providing common sense and pragmatic H&S advice and support, and conducting audits and reviews. They will also be responsible for a range of Trust-wide H&S initiatives including organising and facilitating H&S training events. They will be home-based, but will spend much of their time in our schools in west London, M4 corridor, Oxford, Northampton and Norwich, or at Trust Office in central London.

This role is full of variety and provides a unique opportunity for the post holder to make a real difference to our staff and pupils’ health, safety and welfare, whilst developing their own knowledge and skills.

Candidates must have a good track record of: helping organisations to effectively manage H&S.They must be well-organised; good at working effectively with minimal supervision; have excellent inter-personal and communication skills and a practical approach to H&S management. They will have a NEBOSH qualification, be a member of IOSH and preferably have experience of working within the education sector.
