Your new role
A public sector client is looking for an interim health and safety advisor with a construction/facilities background to support their team for the next 6 months. You will be working alongside a small team helping to develop and implement their health and safety management system and promote a positive safety culture. This role will have particular focus within Estates and Facilities so will specifically include advice and support on statutory compliance, construction safety, asbestos management and also the management of contractors. You will be auditing, delivering training, supporting managers and staff, providing advice and guidance, conducting accident investigations and overseeing the health and safety with refurb works that are taking place.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need significant Health and Safety experience from large complex organisations as well as demonstrable evidence of client side construction safety management. You will hold the NEBOSH certificate as a minimum and ideally the NEBOSH diploma or equivalent. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing and have the ability to negotiate and influence others at all levels.
