A large food manufacturing organisation based in Wirral. HSE manager on a permanent basis required
Your new company
A food manufacturing organisation that operate from 15 sites across the UK and employ over 3500 staff nationally. This particular site manufacturers a number of branded items that will be found in many retail organisations. The site have been producing for many years from this site and have a good standing within the local community and are a sought after employer to the local community.
Your new role
As HSE manager you will be ensuring that this site complies with all HSE legislation and internal standards. You will lead the HSE strategy throughout and help to develop a long-term, achievable safety plan. You will work with other members of the safety team and management team to embed behavioural safety and best practice. You will be responsible for maintaining the company accreditation such as ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001. You will also play an active role on the shop floor carrying out audits, providing toolbox talks and reviewing safety processes and standards within both the site workforce and machinery.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role will need at least 2 years of experience working in a management capacity within a FMCG environment, preferably food. You will be educated to at least Diploma level and hold some form of environmental certificate such as IEMA. You will also need to be an approachable character who can be assertive but also form good working relationships and have naturally influencing personality.
