HSE Adviser / Lead
Based :- Lancaster
Salary :- £35,000 per annum + package
Main Responsibilities :-
Collaborate with the Environment Manager for the maintenance and implementation of systems in matters of environmental management (ISO 14001) and forest certifications (FSC).
Collaborate with the Corporate H&S management team.
Manage the communication flow with the relevant authorities in matters of environmental protection.
Collaborate with the Environment Manager for the maintenance of the granted environmental permissions.
Support, assist and collaborate with the other corporate depts. on operational aspects related to environmental issues.
Support the corporate Environment Department in the management of the communication flow towards clients on environmental topics.
Identify risk factors within the plant, compiling risk assessments and indicate the necessary measures for the health and safety of working environments in compliance with the regulations in force.
Guarantee the correct and efficient control of administrative processes concerning safety management.
Carry out analyses following job injuries, in order to ascertain their cause and promptly implement the related corrective measures.
Chair safety meetings with workers and their representatives.
Maintain and improve safety procedures for the different corporate activities.
Participate in consultations on matters of work health and safety.
Participate in the training process of suppliers of goods and services with relation to safety and hygiene activities in the working places (where applicable).
Ensure compliance of machines, plants and facilities with law requirements and in the suggestion of measures to carry out in order to raise their safety standards, also taking into account the applicable harmonised technical provisions.
Promote a proactive, positive safety culture within a corporate environment
Promote the Company's corporate principles and values
Required experience, training and qualifications:
Food or chemical or beverage or packaging manufacturing experience is desirable but may look at wider manufacturing experience if relevant
Environmental degree or experience in the field
ISO 14001 experience
