Liverpool Streetscene Services Ltd was established in March 2016 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Liverpool City Council, responsible for the refuse and recycling collection service, street cleansing and grounds maintenance contracts. Grade PO5 SCP 44-47. £39,961 - £42,806

We are seeking to recruit a SHEQ Manager to ensure that the health, safety and wellbeing of employees is at the heart of what we do. The role will promote and ensure the company’s SHEQ compliance and provide advice, support and take positive action to ensure that the Company meets its responsibilities.

The SHEQ Manager will work in a collaborative and supportive manner with the Senior Leadership Team and Service Managers to implement the SHEQ strategy and its associated initiatives, projects, policy framework, processes and procedures. This includes providing expert advice, promoting the highest standards of working practice, and also line managing, planning and coordinating the work of the Health and Safety Advisor.

The successful applicant will have significant experience in a related discipline (for example, waste, environmental services, highways/ transport) and previous health, safety, environment and quality experience in either an advisory or supervisory role. An in-depth knowledge of current Health and Safety and Environmental legislation is essential.

You will need experience of writing high quality reports for a variety of audiences and the ability to build collaborative relationships across LSSL. This role will require you to proactively assess and monitor internal processes, and drive changes in order to ensure compliance and deliver continuous improvement.
