A confident HSE Officer to join one of the fastest growing local manufacturers, based in Southampton.

My client are one of the fastest-growing and most respected family-owned polythene manufacturers in the UK. They have exciting plans having recently added meeting rooms, a vibrant canteen and a gym at their Southampton base.
The company provide polythene packaging solutions to a range of business sectors, but their key focus is gaining BRC Accreditation in the near future so they can establish themselves in the national food and drink markets.
Your new role
As Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer and the 'competent person' for the business, you will report to a supportive Operational Project Manager who has a wealth of experience in manufacturing/production to draw upon.
Main purpose - to establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with HSE within the company are adhered to.
You will be based in Southampton and work in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment where you will communicate at all levels and within a diverse, multi-cultural workforce.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a flexible, adaptable person with a practical 'hands on' approach to HSE. The ideal background is working in a similar role within manufacturing or FMCG/production, but the client will consider experience in engineering, marine/shipping or defence.
A NEBOSH General Certificate is essential, ideally working towards a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent too. Experience of COSHH, carrying out accident investigations and implementing/revising HSE policies is also required.
