A Government Research Organisation is looking to add an ambitious and personable Health & Safety Technician to their 7 person QSHE department. The team as a whole are responsible for providing quality, safety, health and environment support to all staff within the organisation by actively monitoring safety performance, managing Unusual Occurrence Reports (UNOR), producing other key reports and assisting to deliver interesting and engaging training sessions to staff on site.
Your new role will have varying different responsibilities including supporting the SHE function to enable advisory to staff and contractors on safety and health throughout the site as well as coordinating, monitoring ad measuring the ongoing SHE programme. You will also be tasked in leading the support behind the review and completion of risk assessments across various business areas in the organisation. You will also work hand in hand with the environmental advisor in the management of ISO14001 management systems.
What you'll need to succeed:
In order for your application to be successful you will need to hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety (or equivalent) and ideally be a TECH member of IOSH with a desire to upgrade this. A background in science or engineering would be advantageous, holding either a HNC or equivalent in these or similar disciplines. You will also need to be an effective communicator and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Health and Safety.
