Based at the Duchy’s Estate office in Bath, the Health and Safety Officer will be a Pan-Duchy role and as such, you will be required to travel extensively throughout the Duchy Estate.

Your primary role as Health and Safety Officer is to ensure the Duchy complies with its statutory obligations in respect of health and safety. You will lead on best practice and advise and support staff, contractors and tenants on all safety, health and welfare matters and ensure a consistent approach across the Duchy.

The scope of the role will cover all aspects of the Duchy and encompass a variety of environments to include (but not limited to) construction (small and large scale), forestry, agriculture, office and marine. 

Experience of all aspects of CDM and experience in a similar multidisciplinary role is essential. Previous experience in the rural sector and multi-site experience is considered desirable.

To be successful, you must posses a relevant professional qualification in occupational health and safety, such as NEBOSH national diploma is essential with membership of relevant professional body (IOSH).

A detailed working knowledge of all relevant legislation is essential, and the ability to effectively influence those at a senior level would be an advantage.
