Reporting to the Head of Integrated Governance, the Health and Safety Manager will support the development of HSIB’s strategic approach obligations under current health and safety legislation, associated legislation and in accordance with HSIB’s governance framework.
As Health and Safety Manager, you will provide health and safety advice, guidance, support and training to all HSIB staff and be the organisation’s ‘competent person’ with regards to health and safety at work.
You will assist in the development of and have responsibility for the implementation of HSIB’s health and safety strategy, policies and procedures in accordance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance.
In addition, a vital element of the role will be to promote a culture where managing risk and sound occupational health and safety is recognised as integral to service delivery.
The ideal candidate will hold a NEBOSH Diploma and Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). You will be able to demonstrate substantial experience working at a senior level in health and safety and organisational risk management in a large, complex organisation. NHS experience would be preferable, but is not essential.
Hours: Part-time 22.5 hours per week
