Health and Safety Manager
Grade 12: £44,295 - £47611
Full time - 37 hours per week

We are currently seeking an experienced manager to lead our health and safety team. The Council has a strategy for improvement of health and safety which is about driving cultural change, ensuring our systems are fit for purpose and that we are excellent at the basics. We require someone who can put this strategy into a plan of delivery and continue on the journey we have started to becoming a great organisation in terms of staff wellbeing, looking after health and safety.
The role is varied and involves advising on major city events as well as giving sound professional advice to our services. You will need to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, including experience of managing change, people, finances, customer engagement and involvement, as well as being a professionally qualified and experienced health and safety expert. Prior experience of managing a team of health and safety professionals will be key to getting on the shortlist.
You will also need to understand the complexities of working in a large organisation and working in a political environment would be a distinct advantage.
You will need to be a team player, with a can do attitude, contributing to the development of the wider service area in terms of staff development, learning, continuous improvement, quality assurance, equalities, and building our reputation as a traded service to others.
