Energy Networks Association (ENA) is the industry body providing a strategic focus for the transmission and distribution network operators for gas and electricity in the UK and Ireland.
Our members control and maintain the critical national infrastructure that delivers the gas and electricity services into our homes and businesses and together we are involved in the future long-term development and implementation of the UK's energy infrastructure.
We are seeking an experienced and qualified SHE professional with a proven track record in developing strategies to advance collective SHE activities. Candidates must hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and hold either Associate or Technical membership of IOSH.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Head of SHE, with two staff reports, will be responsible for managing ENA’s electricity SHE function to ensure that it effectively and efficiently meets member companies’ needs as well as directing work in support of the Electricity Industry’s 5 year H&S strategy, ‘Powering Improvement’.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- briefing the Executive team on health, safety and environmental matters and associated legislation;
- management of the framework of committees established to support member companies’ SHE priorities
- management of ENA’s relationship on SHE issues with external stakeholders such as HSE and the Trade Unions.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating the conference programme for the industry’s annual SHE Conference and will represent ENA at meetings in the UK and Europe.
Experience of working in, or with, the electricity industry or other utilities in a senior Health & Safety Management role would be advantageous but not essential. Candidates must have proven leadership skills and demonstrable experience in building positive and productive relationships with colleagues, customers, commercial partners and stakeholders.
