Acre is delighted to be partnered with one of the UK's leading construction and house building businesses to identify a Health & Safety (H&S) Business Partner. Working closely with regional business unit leaders, this position will support the region's site management staff and functional support teams in delivering compliance and best practice throughout all phases of a project's life cycle.

Through an enabling and collaborative approach, you will play a crucial role in the ongoing step-change within the organisation, helping to create a sustainable and values-driven H&S culture.

Principal Accountabilities

* Provide high-quality, professional and proactive support to the regional business unit throughout all phases of a project's life cycle
* Influence and empower business unit leaders to shape and implement robust plans that drive performance improvements where required
* Ensure that the operational business has all the resources that it needs to achieve compliance and best practice in a self-sufficient and sustainable way
* Act as a commercially-aware, focused and business-minded partner for Health & Safety
* Ensure that site and regional teams are self-sufficient and properly enabled through a successful H&S coaching and influencing strategy
* Lead on all major incident and accident investigation and ensure that preventive actions are implemented through a process of root cause analysis
* Develop policy and processes to assist and enable the business to comply and achieve improved outcomes
* Undertake a governance function through the delivery of compliance, high risk and system audits
* Be actively involved in the business' Insurance Programme as a 'go to' for Insurance, Claims & Risk Management advice and support

Person Specification

* Relevant technical knowledge gained through substantial and sustained H&S experience in a construction environment
* Track record of successfully supporting the implementation of a cultural and behavioural change programme
* Highly engaging and compelling communication style with a proven ability to win hearts and minds at all levels within an organisation
* Ambitious and results driven with a strong desire to exceed expectations both internally and externally
* Takes ownership of complex issues and tasks and empowers others to do the same
* Progressive and forward-thinking approach to H&S and assurance
* A Chartered H&S professional (CMIOSH) or GradIOSH and actively working towards chartership
