An organised, driven FM professional to join an established science park in Southampton.

Your new company

My client are one of the largest property agents in the south with a vast portfolio of commercial and residential clients, offering each a comprehensive facilities management service. Notable clients include: RBS, John Lewis, Mitie and the NHS.

Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for proactively providing a professional, effective and efficient day to day property facilities management service, to surveyors, clients and tenants in all aspects of FM.

Carry out weekly walk arounds, ensuring the building fabric is in good order, noting any defects and raising with FM. Coordinating follow up on action items. Monitor active jobs log. Review and make recommendations to maintain building integrity, maintaining accurate records as required. Liaise with building contractors to follow through on approved work. Assist in the compliance of existing H & S policy, safe working practices and USSP best practice.

Other duties

  • Attend regular monthly management meetings and minute if required.
  • Work to department guidelines and standard procedures
  • Monitor all costs for all facilities budgets
  • Ensure building plans are kept up to date
  • Carry out weekly Health & Safety audits
  • Attend external meetings with the landlord
  • Assist with the preparation and tendering contracts within the facilities team, ensuring commercial competitiveness
  • Provide support to the Facilities Manager as required.

What you'll need to succeed

Working with Senior Managers and for a number of individuals at any one time. Role involving external customer contact. Office/admistrative experience.

MS Excel (Intermediate level), MS Word (Intermediate level), Tramps (Desirable), MS Outlook including Calendar, Internet, Scanner, Photocopiers, Franking machine, Telephone systems

Able to multi-task / Organisational skills, Self-development - willingness to learn, Speed, accuracy and attention to detail, Adaptability/flexibility/dependability, Co-ordination skills, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Customer relationship skills, Discretion and Confidentiality, Ability to work with others or independently with initiative, An accurate completer of tasks, Open, friendly and confident, Occasional visits to other internal and external locations for meetings/training.
