We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Engineer to join the team in our Efficient Natural Resources Sector in Brimsdown. Reporting to the Site EHS Manager, you’ll ensure compliance requirements of the Brimsdown Site Environmental Permit are maintained. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining environmental procedures and line managing the Environmental Coordinator

Key responsibilities

  • Support the development of relationships with the Environmental Agency including attending liaison meetings

  • Coordinate the implementation of Best Available Techniques and controls from results of hazard analysis

  • Support and drive the implementation of the environmental management system - ISO 14001:2015

  • Coordinate the environmental monitoring for the Brimsdown site Permit such that the site is legally compliant.

  • Produce and submit site environmental and sustainability data for the Brimsdown monthly divisional reports.

  • Investigate Environmental incidents and breaches, providing reports and data for internal and regulatory stakeholders.

  • Collate key environmental performance data for Brimsdown in support of Regulatory and Environmental Management system compliance, and report at the EHS management, EHS steering committee and Annual review meetings.

  • Assist with the creation of Key Environmental metrics and associated reporting tools, including live dashboards, on the R&C EHS SharePoint site to provide visibility of key Environmental issues and concerns.

  • Assist the EHS manager in support of site COMAH Compliance with participation in environmental assessment reviews and monitoring of action plans.

  • Report key environmental parameters for the Brimsdown Johnson Matthey site in support of business unit and divisional sustainability objectives.​

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will:

  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science/Engineering based subject 

  • NEBOSH or IEMA environmental certificate, PIEEM, or IEMA Membership

  • Trained auditor (ISO14001 or OHSAS18001 standard)

  • Previous experience in management of waste water / effluent treatment
