A varied role for a Corporate H&S Advisor to join a successful local authority in Bournemouth (12m FTC).

My client are an established council who have a proud history of offering a range of services to the local community. Following a recent merger, the business are responsible for many locations throughout Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole across different service units.

Your new role
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 12m Fixed Term Contract, but the business intend to make the position permanent if you successfully pass your probationary period (3 months). Both candidates who I placed recently were made permanent at 3 months after joining on 12m FTC's.
As Corporate Health and Safety Advisor, you will report to the Health and Safety Manager. You will be based in the Bournemouth office for part of your week and various locations (other service units) for the rest of the time. This is a varied, mobile role where you will need to identify, plan and implement Health and Safety actions across many different working environments.
Main purpose of the role:
You will provide a high quality health and safety service to the council which provides council staff and contractors with the specialist technical advice and support they need to deliver council projects and operations and provide services safely and at minimum risk.
This is a mobile role so a Full UK Driving Licence is essential. Working hours: 37/week, Monday-Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will need experience of working in a multi-site organisation, ideally in a business that offer a range of different services to clients. Some knowledge of Health and Safety in buildings/construction will be an advantage too.
You must hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or be a Technical Member of IOSH. The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH Diploma/Graduate Member of IOSH (or equivalent).
