Your new role
In your new role you will be responsible for leading on corporate compliance focusing within Health & Safety duties as landlord, employer, maintenance works and construction. Reporting to the Director of Finance, your role will encompass being the organisations competent person to manage all Health & Safety relating to their property portfolio and occupational requirements. Ensuring compliance with legislation will be key to your role as well as providing support on legal and regulatory issues. You will be working collaboratively with senior managers and promoting positive H&S culture within the organisation.

Upon joining your main duties will be to implement, monitor and advise on Health & Safety management systems across the organisation and work to inspire colleagues and drive a positive H&S change. Operationally you will carry out checks on buildings and landlord information including Fire Risk Assessments, asbestos, water hygiene, accident and incidents, fire safety equipment and more. Training new staff and providing regular training to all employed colleagues will also fall into your remit and managing the H&S Budget to ensure priorities are being met.

Overall this is a challenging but rewarding role working with a wide array of people and helping an organisation succeed in fulfilling its health & safety requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successfully appointed you will need to hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent with practical experience within Health & Safety also. Your compliance knowledge should be outstanding combined with ambition and drive to make improvements and change. Experience within Social Housing would be beneficial but not essential as well as the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety. A driving licence is essential as travel is included in this role.
