Interface NRM Ltd is a Certification Body operating across the UK, and internationally with a partner organisation in North Italy. We have our Head Office in Telford, with another office in Bournemouth. We provide UKAS accredited OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and14001 certification services, as well as FSC/PEFC Chain of Custody certification. We have been trading since 2002, and have 7 full-time staff, 1 part-time staff member and a pool of associates.

As we are growing, we have a need for another full-time management systems auditor. We are looking for an experienced IRCA qualified external auditor, with experience of at least one of OHSAS 18001 auditing. Experience of construction or manufacturing industries would be a bonus.

Job Purpose:

The main role of the job is to plan and conduct professional management system audits in accordance with procedures, standards and expectations of clients.

The job will be largely field based and will require the auditor to travel extensively within the UK, and possibly overseas, visiting a wide range of commercial and industrial organisations conducting a variety of audits. The auditor will be required to generally work alone and independently from the office when engaged on auditing or other related activities.

The role will require a significant amount of travel, and you must be happy driving and staying 1-3 nights per week in hotel accommodation.

The auditor will be expected to identify opportunities for providing additional services to clients and have a business development function.

Duties and key result areas:

Duties will include:

  • Conducting Gap Analysis Assessments on Clients against OHSAS18001 and ISO 9001requirements.
  • Conduct Certification, Surveillance and Re-Certification Audits on Clients Management Systems against OHSAS18001 and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Documenting audit findings in audit reports in a timely manner
  • Working closely with operations staff to ensure that diary and fee-earning targets are met
  • Reporting back on business development opportunities
  • Assisting with meeting compliance requirements with our accreditation bodies

Results will be:

· Delivering fee earning targets

· Satisfactory client feedback

· Documenting audits and submitting acceptable reports in a timely manner

Work Arrangements

Largely based on client sites, with on average 1 day a week office based in Telford or Bournemouth. Business mileage rates paid for business travel or car provided.

Flexible week day working 37.5 hours per week.


Post Title: Health and Safety and Quality Auditor

Knowledge and Qualifications - Essential

Full understanding of the OHSAS 18000 series of standards.

Understanding of ISO 19011 auditing principles, and employing these to evaluate Company and Organisations on their Management Systems.

Relevant Health and Safety Qualification. i.e. NEBOSH Gen Cert in H&S

Education to A level or equivalent NVQ etc.

Full driving licence

Knowledge and Qualifications - Desirable

First degree, or equivalent - i.e. BA/BSc, HNC, NVQ 5, etc.

Full understanding of the ISO 9000 series of standards.

IRCA lead auditor, or equivalent qualification.

Experience - Essential

Relevant work experience in positions with management systems and/or Health and safety responsibility.

Experience in management systems auditing against recognised standards.

Evidence of at least 5 years of work experience in a technical, managerial or professional position, with at least 2 years including operational and auditing experience.

Experience - Desirable

Experience of working in a growing, high pressure SME environment.

Experience of Quality, Environmental or Chain of Custody auditing.

Experience of the construction industries, or manufacturing.

Skills and competencies

Good standard office skills (Microsoft 365, office professional etc),

Effective report writing

Excellent and proven communication and inter-personal skills

Ability to work as a self-starter, problem identifier and problem solver.

Ability to work as a member of a high pressure team.

Physical, mental and emotional demands

Some days are very hard work, requiring early starts and travel to the place of work, and may involve a late return home, or a night in a hotel. It is essential that this is understood and that you can cope, or thrive, in a demanding, high pressure and fast moving environment, and have the confidence to travel independently.

Salary: £26,000.00 to £35,000.00 /year
