Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

This mobile role will suit an individual to be able to work under their own initiative and involves a significant amount of travel (by car) and occasional overnight stays.

The job comprises of the following principal subjects:-
Provide Health, Safety and Environmental guidance to the organisation on a day to day basis in respect of all aspects or areas of business.
Carry out regular office/site/warehouse facility Health and Safety Inspections, produce reports and follow up action points. Additionally carry out office risk assessments, inclusive of fire assessments, ensure they are reviewed as necessary and tested in accordance with legislation and good practice.
Make regular visits to the operational contracts to review the application of Health and Safety, especially with regard to work involving void properties, responsive maintenance and gas/electrical contracts.
Liaise with Enforcing Authorities as required and described in the Company’s Health and Safety Policy.
Assist in achieving and maintaining OHSAS 18001 Certification once the business is in a position to do so.
The position is suited to an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental professional who’s career history is one of extensive practical experience in the Residential Responsive Maintenance sector of the Construction Industry.

All candidates applying must hold either the NEBOSH General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate. Experience of delivering training would be beneficial. Previous experience of working in maintenance, building services or housing environment is essential.
