Product Safety Manager

Our client is a FTSE 100 company and one of the world’s largest producers of household products. Acre is working on their behalf to source a Product Safety Manager to oversee safety and toxicological affairs associated with their household products whilst leading and developing a team of high calibre toxicologists.

The post holder will work with individuals across the business to enable the launch of safe consumer products across the world and their key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a team of toxicologists ensuring that they are motivated, organised and productive
• Working with relevant functions to ensure all raw materials are considered safe and meet internal policy requirements
• Leading on the resolution of global safety issues affecting relevant products and providing safety training across the business
• Ensuring appropriate hazard evaluation and health risks assessment for our clients products are conducted and within guidelines
• Representing the company’s interest with government agencies, industry associations and other organisation in toxicology, product safety and the environment
• Coordinating and monitoring toxicology studies

You will be educated to honours degree level in toxicology, chemistry, biological sciences or life sciences and will have a proven professional track record working in Consumer Product Development and Regulatory Affairs. You will also have:

• Experience in recruitment, management and staff development
• Strong leadership, motivational and leadership skills
• A commercial understanding of corporate and operational business issues
• A strong understanding of marketing strategy, priority setting and project management
• An understanding of P&L management
• An appetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories
