Job Title: Health, Safety & Environment Officer
* Location: Worthing, West Sussex * NEBOSH general certificate (complete or nearly complete) * Some industrial GMP experience (ideally Pharmaceutical but other regulated backgrounds will be considered) * Strong IT and communication skills are ESSENTIAL * Salary £19k - £25k + Benefits The Company A pharmaceutical company based in West Sussex and 3 buildings has a unique focus on the GMP-compliant production of vaccines to cure allergies. The company is undergoing expansion and is currently opening a new building, so you will be involved in assisting this process. The Role Working alongside the Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you will ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are met across the 3 existing buildings and new building (all in the same road). You will perform training, give tool box talks to different departments, conduct risk assessments, promote awareness of Health & Safety across the company and highlight areas of risk. Your areas of work will include laboratories, offices, sterile production areas and warehouses, dealing with hazardous substances that require the utmost adherence to safety guidelines. You will maintain the risk assessment databases and training matrices and will be heavily involved in internal and external audits. This is a challenging, broad role that requires excellent attention to detail, flexibility and clear communication skills. Ideally this experience will have been obtained in the Pharmaceutical industry, though candidates will also be considered from other regulated industries such as Food, FMCG and Cosmetics. Candidates who are part-qualified in NEBOSH will also be considered as long as they are near to completing their studies. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, IT experience, attention to detail and a genuine passion for your work.
