Our Clients site in Wakefield is a high performing warehouse site distributing food products to stores in the Yorkshire and North Midlands area. They are currently looking to appoint a Health, Safety & facilities Manager to join its senior management team.
The Health, Safety and Facilities Manager will take an active part in the management of our Clients operations and will be responsible for strategy and management of the facilities and health and safety functions of the site which employs 600 staff. Reporting to the General Manager you should be proactive in nature, prepared to challenge the status quo, keen to contribute to decision-making and future planning. You will also be customer and colleague focused, with a sound knowledge of H&S legislation. You will be able to display strong planning and organisational skills and will be a confident communicator, reflecting our Clients core values in your style and approach. Health and Safety v Day to day H&S issues (Accident Investigations, Risk Assessments, etc) v Compiling H&S records and reports v Management of the H&S Forum, First Aid team, Fire Wardens v Review and implementation of the site H&S Action Plan v Delivery of H&S training and initiatives v Promotion of H&S awareness and best practice v Liaison with Emergency Services and Environmental Health Officers Facilities Management v Day to day management of the building, services and facilities v Management of the onsite contract staff e.g. Security, Maintenance, Cleaning, M&E Maintenance, Caterers v Preparation and management of the Facilities budget v Conducting regular performance meetings with contract managers and reviewing contracts as required v Negotiating service contracts v Promoting best practice at all times Ideal candidates will have a recognised H&S qualification and strong knowledge of H&S legislation. Experience in a similar role is desired but not essentially within warehouse environment.
