Health and Safety Manager

An exciting  career opportunity has arisen with a major insurance company based in South London.  This Health and Safety Managers role will focus on managing the Health & Safety and Environmental provision of their repair network, including sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with the Company’s technical, service and compliance standards as well legislative and regulatory requirements.

Other areas of responsibility will include:
Act as a technical referral point and assist in the resolution of Health & Safety issues
Undertake contractor audits reporting findings to the Network Manager
Provide Contractor H&S Performance Reports, Trend Analysis and Recommendations
Ensure compliance with the company H&S processes and manage the H&S Audit Process
Assess ALL new contractors H&S capabilities and sign off and accept New applicant contractors for H&S & Environmental matters 
Co-ordinate and deliver relevant H & S training all staff and the contractor network
Co-ordinate the CDM triaging process and liaison with the CDM Unit
Analyse feedback from CDM Unit and co-ordinate service improvements with contractors and Contractor Managers
Report H&S failings and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
Record Accidents and near misses

Experience & qualifications required:
All candidates applying should have the NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
Qualified in a construction related subject
On site experience in the construction industry preferably from within the commerical or housing sector.
Possesses a UK driving license
Prior audit and report writing experience
It would be beneficial if you have previous construction experience
