My client is an award winning local contractor who have completed prestigious projects both in the public and private sectors throughout the province. The are currently involved on large scale projects in the educational and retail sectors and have a requirement for an experienced SHEQ Manager. The SHEQ Manager will be responsible for the management of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality procedures within the company and will directly report to the Managing Director. Role The main duties and responsibilities of this role is as follows: Monitor, review, audit and regularly renew H&S Policies. To ensure that the Company's health & safety and fire prevention policies and procedures are effectively implemented across all levels of the Company. Update monitor, review, audit, and manage the H&S Management procedures Oversee and monitor the use of all products classed as hazardous and subject to CoSHH Regs, MSDS sheets Prepare and review Construction Risk Assessments and Method statements To manage the of the duties of the Principle Contractor as required by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007. To carry out site inspections of work being carried out by Company employees or Sub contractors Carry out investigations as per SHEQ duties Reporting and investigating accidents/incidents including personal injury claims Manage the accident statistics and assist Insurers as appropriate Brief the Senior Director on his responsibility on SHEQ matters Liaise with a Principal Contractor/Sub-Contractor on SHEQ duties Manage the Integrated Safety Management System and lead audit teams Review, Audit and update Quality Policies and procedures Overall responsibility for Quality Systems Manage the system for identifying and disposition of non-conforming items Manage the system to audit quality system Manage the system to audit non-conformances Manage the Training Program and needs analysis of employees and keep records Manage the system for control of Sub-Contractors review and audit Update and manage the Environmental Policy Ensure employees are familiar with Environmental System Manage the Environmental Management System Manage the ISO 9001, 14001 / EMAS / OHSAS 18001, RoSPA, Construction line and Safe T Cert Certification. Manage the Environmental impacts determined by Set and manage Environmental goals Take responsibility for environmental issues Manage civil action/convictions in respect of the environment To promote a positive health & safety culture across the Company. Any other duties as directed by the Managing Director Opportunity This is an immediate permanent opportunity to join one of Northern Irelands leading contractors. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the IMS and also have a Health & Safety Officer reporting directly to them.
