The role will be working for one of the leading manufacturer of plasters and plasterboards in the UK. The company is committed to continuously improving our Health, Safety and Environmental performance. At the site near Leeds, has had good results in these areas, with accreditation to PAS 99 (comprising of ISO 9001; ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001).
They are looking to recruit a Safety Health Environment and Quality Coordinator who will work closely with the team to build on this good performance and support further development of our SHEQ systems. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain some experience and develop with the role. Job Purpose The role is a combination of routine requirements in addition to developmental work as the role becomes more established. Key elements will be * Monitoring and reviewing performance data * Administering and developing the computer based SHEQ management system (Entropy) * Liaising closely with department managers to develop and review the management systems * Tracking the progress made against the annual improvement plans * Co-ordinating and participating in audits to monitor our compliance * Communicating key safety and environmental information throughout the organisation * Co-ordinating and managing all aspects of Occupational Health programmes * Covering the Laboratory activities during holidays Most of all you will match our enthusiasm and desire to improve. Experience / Qualification You are likely to be in the early stages of an environment or safety role with some formal qualifications in environment and/or safety and a good standard of education. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills to be able to clearly and concisely convey safety and environmental information. The need to analyse data and adopt a thorough and structured approach from this, is essential. So is attention to detail and accuracy.
