Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator required for a large international manufacturing company. You will be working closely with the Head of Operations. This is an excellent position and will test your EHS skills and knowledge and offer you the chance to work for an established and secure company.
You will coordinate planning, organisation and implementation of environmental programmes, and developing and directing the implementation of programs necessary to avoid injuries and losses due to accidents. The position also includes a facilities management service for the site by co-ordinating external services e.g. cleaning, maintenance, security and managing renovations and relocations and other site projects. Day to day you will monitor existing and potential environmental concerns and establishes priorities for resolution, maintain a working knowledge of current regulations whilst maintaining relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel, identify common safety/health hazards, investigates and establishes standards for protective equipment, audit safety programs for compliance with company standards and develop safe standard work practices with line personnel and monitor conformance through safety and housekeeping inspections. You require a Nebosh Diploma or equivalent and ideally have an Engineering qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline. You also require a working background within Engineering or Manufacturing. Although the position includes aspects of Facilities Management the client are looking for an EHS Professional.
