Health & Safety Manager - Lambeth
A well established Housing Association are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team within the borough of Lambeth. The role will consist of advising the organisation on its health and safety obligations so as to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including The Health & Safety at Work Act and associated legislation through if necessary, the preparation and implementation of Safety Policies and Procedures. Main duties - By regular performance monitoring ensure that all of the organisations activities are carried out to the highest possible safety standards. - Ensure that policies and procedures are regularly reviewed to continually reflect legislative requirements and best practice and are appropriate to local circumstances to ensure safe methods of working. - Identify health and safety training needs, delivering and/or organising external providers, as appropriate, to meet those needs. - Ensure the organisation clearly understands and implements best practice to resolve any health and safety risks. - Keep abreast of all current risk management and safety techniques, health and safety related legislation and other relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining an appropriate library of information. - Manage and train the Health and Safety Advisor. - To observe the highest possible standards in relation to confidentiality and the provisions of the Data Protection legislation. - To be responsible for the co-ordination and implementation of risk management and risk assessments. Personal Specification - Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH. - Formal technical training to include NEBOSH qualification and experience within the building / construction industry. - NEBOSH Construction / Fire Safety and Risk Management. - ISO 18001 Auditor - PASMA / Scaffold Inspection - Experience of working as a Health and Safety Manager for a building contractor or similar. - Experience and ability to comply with CDM regulations 2007 - Knowledge and experience with the housing association sector. - Full driving licence Hays Construction & Property is a trading division of Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited and acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
