College Health & Safety Advisor University of the Arts London is a vibrant world centre for innovation, drawing together We need a proactive professional to provide information, advice and support on all aspects of Health and Safety in an internationally renowned art, design and media communication college. You will build on current good practice, working closely with staff and students across a wide range of disciplines. Working with the Head of College, the Deans of Faculty and the University Health & Safety Advisor you will develop an annual operating plan and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. You will also take part in audits and inspections, consult with Trade Union representatives, oversee risk assessments, provide Health and Safety training, plan emergency drills and participate in relevant committee meetings. We are looking for a technician or graduate member of the IOSH with a NEBOSH General Certificate. You should also hold [or be willing to study for] a NEBOSH National Diploma. Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of practice based higher education are essential.
