Exciting new job opportunity to work on for a housing association on a one year contract basis.  This role is based in their head office and reporting to the Group HR Director.  You will be required to work with Chief Executives and Managers across the Group to ensure all legal and regulatory health and safety requirements are met.
Other duties will include:
 
Provide assurance to the Group Board and Management team on health and safety compliance matters.
 
Develop, monitor and review the Groups’ Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure they remain in line with current legislation and the needs of the business.
Report on a regular basis to the Board, management team, risk panel and H&S Steering Group the organisations compliance on health and safety matters.
 
Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of performance data and to regularly review data provided by and on behalf of Group members to ensure its integrity
 
Ensure health and safety matters are given a high profile in internal communications and resident publications.
Support Directors and managers in planning and promoting health and safety awareness, which will include providing procedures, guidance and training.

Maintain appropriate Health, Safety and Fire records.

Candidate requirements:
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Experience of working with / advising managers at a senior level on health and safety issues
Up to date knowledge of health and safety law
Experience of producing and reviewing health and safety policy & procedures
Proven ability to promote health and safety in the workplace.
Knowledge and ability to lead/coordinate staff surveys & questionnaires
Knowledge of good practice in promoting staff health & welfare
Experience of collecting, monitoring and benchmarking health and safety data
Good communication, influence and reporting writing skills
Managing working groups and chairing meetings
