We’re just as serious about finding the right person to play a pivotal role in enabling National Grid Metering to achieve their Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES) goals.

 

National Grid Metering provide services to around 17 million of the nation’s domestic and commercial gas meters. A key part of this role is to work closely with National Grid Metering to develop strategies and plans aimed at continuous improvement. This will deliver our aspiration to eliminate or minimise the risks to achieving zero injuries or harm, and to safeguard members of the public.

 

You’ll have the drive and enthusiasm to influence and inspire National Grid Metering’s Executive Committee, and to coach and advise the wider business to achieve high standards of performance and promote continuous improvement.  

 

You’ll work closely with key stakeholders within the business to develop and establish tools and techniques which support line management to further improve performance. Maintaining positive relationships with the HSE, Local Authorities, EA and SEPA will be one of your key tasks.

 

The ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels is essential. With your passion, commitment and expertise, you’ll be comfortable taking the lead and keen to develop further a strong and focussed team. You’ll think creatively at a strategic level, make effective decisions and demonstrate innovative problem solving.

 

In addition, you’ll have a relevant technical/professional degree or ONC, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and be a chartered member of IOSH.
